Cav Notes

September 1, 2007 - The girls finished in 4th place overall out of 28 teams (gold division) in the Virginia Showcase.

September 27, 2007 - First time in PA's history that both the boys and girls teams beat First Colonial on the same day. These matches were HUGE.

October 25, 2007 - The regular season ended in a 3-way tie for third.  Names were drawn and we got the #3 seed for the Beach Tournament.  This is the best placing for the girls team in school history!

October 31, 2007 - The girls volleyball team qualified for the Eastern Region Tournament for the first time in school history by defeating Kellam in 5 sets in the Beach District Tournament semi-finals.

November 3, 2007 - Lost to Cox but went down fighting - although the scores may not reflect it - our girls played hard and never gave up - Cox has a roster full of Senior talent - PA is a very young team with only 1 Senior - We've accomplished School History.  This game didn't matter as Cox was 1st and PA was 2nd so both teams, no matter the outcome of this match advance to Regionals.

November 6, 2007 - PA moved into the region semifinals vs. Western Branch. Another first in school history. The game will be at Tallwood at 6:30 p.m.

November 7, 2007 - PA qualified for the state tournament , another first, by beating Western Branch in the region semifinals 3-1.

November 10, 2007 - Although Cox came in first at the Regional Tournament the Cavaliers came out winners knowing they gave Cox a run for their money!  Besides celebrating a runner up victory in the Regional Tournament, the Princess Anne Cavaliers move on to the State Quarterfinals on Tuesday 11/13.  They will be playing at Langley High School in McLean, VA.
