About the Lady Cavs
The Princess Anne girls basketball program has been one of the most successful in Virginia over the past 13 years. The team has won 11 Beach regular season and/or tournament championships during this time. Coach Darnell Dozier has a 325-35, 13-year record through 2008. This is an incredible 90% winning percentage.

In 2008, the team won 28 in a row and was ranked #1 in the state for most of the year. The ladies lost in the Eastern Region final to Heritage and again in the State Semifinal to Forest park to finish at 29-2.

In 2007, the nationally ranked team finished 26-2, losing in the semifinals of the Eastern Region Tournament after All American Kim Rodgers broke her ring finger in the finals of the Beach District Tournament.

After being nationally ranked most of the 2006 season, and defending their Eastern Region title, the ladies fell short in their bid for a second straight state title. They fell to Edison in the state semis to end their year at 29-2.

In 2005, The Lady Cavs came from 15 points down near the end of the third quarter to defeat the defending state champs, Forest Park 59-52. Forest Park was the last team to beat PA, 37-34, in the finals of the Christmas tournament. After a 7-3 start, the ladies ripped off 21 wins in a row to finish 28-3.

In 2002, with a senior dominated team featuring the Mason twins who went on to play for Longwood College, PA won the State Championship finishing with a perfect record of 29-0.
