Director, Mr. David Prescott

Mr. Prescott began his teaching career in 1992 after graduating cum laude from Old Dominion University with a B.S. in Secondary Education in Vocal Music.  In December 2002, he graduated summa cum laude from ODU with a Master of Science in Secondary Education with a concentration in Choral Conducting. Choruses under his direction have consistently won ratings of superior at regional, state and national competitions.  Mr. Prescott has served as a guest conductor and clinician throughout the region.  Most recently he conducted the Old Dominion University’s Concert Choir and University Wind Ensemble in the International Graduate Symposium Concert.   He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Virginia Music Educators Association, and the American Choral Directors Association. Mr. Prescott is listed in “Who’s Who in America” and “Who’s Who Among America’s Educators.”  He is the 2007 K. H. S. Teacher of the Year and the 2008 Virginia Choral Directors Association - District II Choral Music Educator of the Year, and is the recipient of the Virginia Symphony's 2014 "Favorite Music Educator of the Hampton Roads."

Our Ensembles

The PAHS Choral Department is comprised of approximately 100 students in four main ensembles; Forte, Bella Voce, Vocal Motion, and Sound Waves. The focus of these ensembles is music literacy and performance. The department's concerts feature a wide variety of musical styles that are often costumed and choreographed.
