The Princess Anne High School Choral Department is under the direction of David Prescott who began his teaching career in 1992 after graduating cum laude from Old Dominion University with a B.S. in Secondary Education in Vocal Music. In December 2002, he graduated summa cum laude from ODU with a Masters of Science in Secondary Education with a concentration in Choral Conducting. Choruses under his direction have consistently won ratings of superior at regional, state and national competitions. Mr. Prescott has served as a guest conductor and clinician throughout the region. Most recently he conducted the Old Dominion University’s Concert Choir and University Wind Ensemble in the International Graduate Symposium Concert. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Virginia Music Educators Association, and the American Choral Directors Association. Mr. Prescott is listed in “Who’s Who in America” and “Who’s Who Among America’s Educators.” He is the 2007 K. H. S. Teacher of the Year and the 2008 Virginia Choral Directors Association - District II Choral Music Educator of the Year.
The PAHS Choral Department is comprised of approximately 130 students in four main ensembles: Mixed Chorus, Concert Choir, PAJAZZ and Madrigals. The focus of these ensembles is music literacy and performance. The Department’s concerts feature a wide variety of musical styles that are often costumed and choreographed to fit the overall concert’s theme. From the auditioned ensembles, students may be selected to perform with various smaller ensembles including: Show Choir, Jazz Choir, Swing Choir, and Renaissance Choir. Auditions for 2013-2014 are May 22.
Note: Volunteers needed to help with Bingo on Mondays from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Cleveland Street. If you can volunteer only one day a month it would help us in our fund raising for our trips, costumes, production costs, licensing fees, equipment, etc.

The Princess Anne HS family mourns the passing of our former longtime chorus director, Don Nultemeier on January 15, 2013. Attached is a video tribute to Nult (wmv), the way we remember him. He was a true showman, and will be greatly missed by the staff and his former students. |
